While in the Tahoe area last weekend, my dad and sister and I got a chance to walk a section of the PCT just south of Highway 80 near Donner Pass that we maintained 3 years ago as part of a crew I organized at my high school with the help of the PCTA. Though it was covered in fresh snow (the first in almost 50 days!), it was fun to recognize familiar features of the trail we’d worked on seasons before.
We used my tyvek tent footprint, which I’ll be using on my PCT thru-hike in just a month and a half, as a surprisingly effective sled!
these photos are gorgeous! i can’t wait to read all of these posts!
